MasterFoods™ Leads with Australia’s First Recyclable Paper-Based Tomato Sauce Single Dose Packs

MasterFoods™ Leads with Australia’s First Recyclable Paper-Based Ketchup Packs in Partnership with Easysnap Technology

Easysnap Technology is proud to announce that MasterFoods™, one of Australia’s most beloved food brands and part of the Mars family, has chosen our innovative Papersnap® technology for the launch of the country’s first recyclable, paper-based single-serve pack for their iconic Squeeze-On Tomato Sauce.  As a division of Mars, Incorporated—a $50 billion family-owned business known for its global portfolio of pet care, veterinary services, and food brands—MasterFoods™ is supported by Mars’s commitment to a better world. Developed in close collaboration with the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), this milestone initiative represents a significant advancement in sustainable packaging that combines environmental responsibility with consumer convenience.

These new Papersnap® Squeeze-on Tomato Sauce single packs are made with 58% less plastic than traditional single-serve packaging, while maintaining the intuitive, one-handed opening and dispensing that sets Easysnap Technology apart. Consumers can enjoy the same ease of use—simply bend, fold, and squeeze—while benefiting from a pack that’s fully recyclable with paper. This design provides Australians with an eco-conscious way to enjoy their favorite tomato sauce, proving that convenience and sustainability can go hand in hand.

We believe in a future where sustainability and usability are perfectly aligned. Papersnap® represents the realization of this vision, offering consumers a practical, environmentally-friendly solution.

Andrea Taglini, CEO of Easysnap Technology

"Our partnership with MasterFoods™ and APCO is a defining moment for us at Easysnap Technology," says Andrea Taglini, CEO of Easysnap Technology. "We believe in a future where sustainability and usability are perfectly aligned. Papersnap® represents the realization of this vision, offering consumers a practical, environmentally-friendly solution without compromising on the ease and functionality they expect."

Launching in November 2024, these recyclable packs will be available in various popular locations, including stadiums, petrol stations, and pie shops, allowing consumers to experience the benefits firsthand. This trial phase is expected to provide valuable insights into consumer engagement with the new format, helping guide future developments and broader applications of sustainable packaging.
